Bookplates

A bookplate or ex libris is a decorative label pasted into a book, usually on the inside of the cover. They are used to indicate the owner of a book, and show the owner's name along with a phrase like "ex libris", "from the library of", or "this book belongs to". You can read more on the history of bookplates on Wikipedia, and see more historical examples on Artvee!

Most people don't use bookplates today, but I do! And you can to! I put them in my favorite books as well as books I lend to my friends.

When designing your bookplate, think of animals, people, or motifs that are meaningful you. You can print the design in rows on a piece of paper, or on labels/label paper if you have it!

I have also provided a few designs (below) that you can use if you like!
