"animal crossing obscure ost"

Strange songs are being uploaded to YouTube. The uploader claims they are from Animal Crossing Wild World, and are audio recordings from gameplay. However, nobody has ever heard these tracks before. They have names like "0 AM', "Abandoned House", and "Game Over". Their names and descriptions hint at features that were certainly not in the Animal Crossing we grew up playing. Why would there need to be an ambient soundtrack called "Funeral"?

Eventually, there are screenshots, and even video gameplay.

The uploader reports on these things with with some confusion. Large communities had chatted on forums about these things, uploaded tutorials, etc, and nobody these days seems to know about any of it:

"It’s not just this one thing either, it’d make sense if this was just a weird inside joke that didn’t take off, but it’s like they’re playing an entirely different game.

I mean like in depth, pages long, strategy guides on shit like "waterfall dungeon level 5", "halloween furniture guide", "successful villager prayers", "how to escape the visitor". There’s just countless discussions about these features that don’t exist, and nobody calls them out."

This is solidly an "Alternate Universe" type of game. Some of the features, such as the waterfall cave, seem like exactly the type of thing a living copy of Aminal Crossing would dream up though. There are plenty more creepy and thought-provoking things in this series that I didn't mention here, and I would. reccommend watching it for yourself.
