Name: Anti-Bravoman
Species: Science Experiment
Age: Nebulous (Yes he goes to high school in Namco High but so does a thousands-of-years-old undead warrior so this means nothing.)
Hobbies: Action Figure Collecting, Parkour, Monologuing, Writing
Songs that I listened to a lot in high school that I think he would like:
Bird with a broken wing - Owl City
Disturbia - Rihanna
Afraid of the Dark - The Megas
Demons - Imagine Dragons
...is what I thought upon first seeing a picture of Anti-Bravoman. This is difficult to answer. Basically he's from the Bravoman comics (See next box).
First of all he's cute. But also his personality is very endearing to me. He wants to be percieved as a badass anti-hero but he exudes the suffering of a middle-schooler. His "arch-nemesis" invites him over to play video games and he says yes, before being ghosted in favor of another plotline. His bedroom (he lives in his dad's evil lab) is full of cardboard box-furniture and action figures. He often gets the short end of the stick when it comes to jokes (and even has some meta-commentary on this). He has a pet pigeon named "Nega-Pigeon".
He reminds me of what it was like to exist as a teenager (the horrors and the joys). &He deserves all the hapiness in the world!
In the early 2010s, Namco was like “We gotta get put properties from arcade games online because the internet is cool and hip with the kids!”. For some reason they hired a group of artists to make a webcomic based off the 1988 beat-em-up game, Bravoman. The artists basically had to come up with everything themselves because there’s not a lot going on in the source material. The Bravoman webcomic ran from 2012 to 2014 and could be read on the Shiftylook website. It can currently be read on the internet archive.
An web-based dating sim that was online from December 2013 to July 2014. It can kind of still be played today via some archival projects. Mostly known for the fact that it contains HOMESTUCK CHARACTERS. You can "date" (read: be friends with) Anti-Bravo by joining the poetry club. He is a transfer student from rival school Evil Namco High. He's just doing his best and everyone is so mean 2 him :(
A mini-series of 12 animations, avaraging about 5 minutes long. They have a lot of heart and not a lot of budget. Anti-Bravoman is here, and I was pleasantly surprised that his voice was fitting. They definitely leaned a little more into his parasocial relationship with Bravoman lol (not that Bravoman knows or cares). Anti-Bravo was invited to the holiday party in the holiday episode, and showed up in the last episode as well. These animations added a new dimention to the comics that I found really fun.
This game was playable from August 2013 - March 2014. It was an auto-runner where you could play as various Bravoman characters. The photos below are from this game & thank god someone screenshotted them. Lost Media Wiki Page
